About Sustainable Fairfax

Sustainable Fairfax supports the philosophy that we must attend to the needs of the present without sacrificing the ability of future generations and the natural world to provide for their own needs. We are a nonprofit educational organization providing the infrastructure for all age groups in our community to work together to regenerate and preserve the social, economic and environmental well-being of Fairfax and its’ sphere of influence.

Our Vision Includes:

  1. Opening a Sustainability Center; a community resource and clearinghouse on sustainable information and goods.
  2. Creating Community Education; supporting the local economy, wise environmental practices and community building activities.
  3. Trained Volunteers; a diverse group of Volunteers trained on sustainability, able to integrate sustainable practices into our communities and acting as a project coordinators for the community.
