Celebration of the Sun at the Fairfax Festival Parade!

Frank Gonzales, renowned muralist, puppet maker, and former Fairfax Artist-in-Residence, helped members of Sustainable Fairfax build a float featuring a Giant Sun, which was carried by an electric truck in the 25th Annual Fairfax Festival Parade!

Frank (pictured below) graciously donated his time and energy for float and craft workshops which were held at the Sustainable Fairfax headquarters (and future Sustainability Center) located across from town hall at 141 Bolinas Road in Fairfax. In addition to the main float, we also created kid-friendly art projects including pinwheels, windmill hats, and paper gliders that were carried and worn in the parade!
