Open Space Meeting

On May 16th, 2000, Sustainable Fairfax invited the community to explore the next steps toward sustainability in Fairfax and how we can create it together. We conducted the meeting using the "Open Space" meeting method: a dynamic process that shares many of the values underlying sustainability, such as individual empowerment and natural self-organization. Guiding the process was Jeff Aitken, an activist and consultant who has extensive experience with Open Space.

Based on the ideas, needs, wisdom, and energy of those present, we created and managed our evening's agenda working in large and small groups. The result? Good, rich conversations with people who shared interests. The gathering was interesting, productive and FUN! Refreshments were provided by Wild Wood, Good Earth and Wild Oats.
